Northern Beaches Presbyterian Church gets off to a great start

On Sunday 2nd October worship services at the Northern Beaches Presbyterian Church got off to a great start with a commencement services.This saw the coming together of all the congregations of the Mackay Presbyterian Church to committ this new work and ministry to the glory of God. The first offical service was attended by more than one hundred people from across the charge. The core group under the leadership of Rev Peter Dimond and Elder Bill Corbett were committed to the Lord in this ministry to the Northern Beaches communities. Please continue to pray for this work as it comes back to the committed few meeting regularly at 9.30am each Sunday in the new Bucasia State Primary School Community Hall on Kemp St Bucasia. Start date for new congregation at the Northern Beaches decided

Last night the Session agreed that the first service of worship for the new congregation of the Mackay Presbyterian Church - The Northern Beaches Presbyterian Church will take place on Sunday 2 October at the Bucasia State School community hall at 10am.� There will be no other services in the Mackay Charge on this Sunday. Weekly services will continue each Sunday forward at 9.30am.� Rev Peter Dimond will be the regular minister to this congregation.� Pray that God will bless him and this work as we step out in faith to serve our Lord.

Prayer meetings each Wednesday at 5.30pm

Our church has been called to pray each Wednesday afternoon at the Mackay church hall for the work of church planting God is calling us to.  Please come along and pray with Peter Dimond for his work for God in the Northern Beaches and in Youth and Children ministries. Youth and Children Ministries start for 2011

As school starts again today so this weekend 30 June Sunday School will get underway at Mackay Morning Church and Sarina Church. Youth Group will commence the following weekend on Saturday 5 February with a fellowship activity.  Please contact Peter D for Sunday School details and Anna or Hannah about Youth Group.  If you are new to town please use the contact form on this website and we will forward the message on.

Peter and Helen Dimond travel via the far west to avoid Flood water to get to Mackay

Peter and Helen and the kids are making their way to Mackay via western Queensland having to travel as far west as Augathella and Barcaldine before tuning east again to Emerald and on to Mackay. This is the only road open from Bell to Mackay.  Pray they travel safely.

Church Pew sale finishes

All the Church Pews we had for sale are now solded with some going as far away as Victoria.  Thank you to Rob for is work in selling them and we pray they will be a blessing to their purchasers as they have been to us over many years.

Church Pews for sale

Thanks to the generous donation of the Salvation Army Church we have their padded seats in our church buliding in Mackay. They had replaced them with more flexible single seating and gave us their old pews. This means that we have our old timber ones to dispose of. Our plan is to sell them with most of the proceeds going to the Salvation Army for the ministry and work.

Lynn is back and back at work on the 2010 Church Directory.

The Church is delighted to welcome back Lynn and Mara.  Lynn has returned to work at Mackay Christian College and has stepped back into the her roles in the church taking up some of her old admin support roles.  The first of these is the church directory.  Please make a point of catching up with Lynn and checking your details are correct.  Church directories are only distributed to members of the church to help us all stay in touch.

Dollars for Diesel

At the door of the Church you will find a collection box to help Presbyterian Inland Missions meet the rising cost of fuel that they require to undertake.  Please spare some coins each week.  The "Dollars for Diesel" campaign will run until Christmas at which time we will send all the funds raised to PIM.
